Course Description
This clinical course provides comprehensive exposure to the diagnosis, surgical treatment, and post-operative management of benign and malignant breast disease. Emphasis is also placed upon multidisciplinary care including adjuvant chemotherapy and radiation therapy. The student will play an integral role in the pre- and post-operative management of surgical patients in the outpatient clinics. Didactic activities include weekly Surgical Oncology Service Conference, Multidisciplinary Tumor Conference, Surgery Grand Rounds and the Resident's Basic Science Conference and monthly Breast Surgery Journal Club. Faculty members on this service include: Drs. Rachael Lancaster, Helen Krontiras and Catherine Parker.
