Course Description
This course will provide the student with basic knowledge of ophthalmology, especially as it applies to the general practice of medicine. The student will be able to observe and participate in the clinical experience of diagnosis and treatment of patients with various type of ophthalmologic disease in an outpatient clinic. The student will also receive instruction in basic techniques of ophthalmologic examinations, including ophthalmoscopy, tonometry, and the slit-lamp corneal microscope.

Evaluation
Pass/Fail. The student will be evaluated on a subjective basis based upon the attending physician’s interview with the student and observations of the student’s performance.
