Course Description This elective is primarily designed for the student who wishes to become acquainted with an internal medicine residency program which is conducted within a community hospital setting and a medical center. They will have an opportunity to work mostly in the inpatient setting. The student will work with various Internal Medicine faculty, residents and medical students in a team process. The student will participate in patient evaluation, management and care planning. Learning Objectives: Become acquainted with an Internal Medicine Residency Program which is conducted within a community hospital setting and a medical center.
Where To Report Student will be emailed with instruction prior to first day of elective.
Requirements During the in-patient rotation, student will work with a team including attendance at morning report and weekly didactic session.
Evaluation Pass/Fail. The student will be evaluated by attending physicians based on observations of the student's performance, thought process, and interest level. They will be judged on knowledge, attitude, ability, level of documentation, communication skills, level of progress, attendance, and timeliness.
