No LCME students accepted.
No osteopathic students accepted.
Course Description This is a one week special topic course in which the student will work and study with members of the Dept of Surgery. This course is intended for those students interested in a surgical specialty or those wanting further experience in the surgical field. The student will expand their existing knowledge base that was obtained during other 3rd year rotations which will enable the student to better care for the surgical patient. At the conclusion of the course, the student will be better prepared for a surgical residency.

Requirements Participate in all aspects of care of the surgical patient, including assistance in surgical cases, as seen fit by the attending.
Evaluation Pass/Fail based on:
- Attendance
- Participation in and contribution to patient care, inside and outside the OR
