Course Description
The purpose of this course is to provide a concentrated learning experience for students who are interested in the field of Pediatric Rheumatology and provide a core framework with which the student learns to approach this unique discipline. This course is designed to focus on clinical medicine, but opportunities for research will also be available.
Where To Report
Children's Hospital Park Place, Pediatric Rheumatology Clinic at 8:30 am after orientation in the Bradley 4th floor meeting area.
Requirements
There are 8 half day cllinics per week. Ais are required, at minimum, to attend 4 half days of outpatient rheumatology clinics per week. During the remainder of each week, the student will take part in consults and/or take part in a current research project with the guidance of a faculty member. Students are expected to read about the pathogenesis and current treatment guidelines for rheumatologic disease through online resources such as Up To Date, as well as Pediatric Rheumatology Primer. Whenever possible, the student will attend the Pediatrics noon conference and weekly didactics.
