Course Description Advanced Obstetrics & Gynecology at Northport Medical Center is designed for any student who plans to pursue Ob/Gyn as a career. This course can be taken as an Elective (EL) or Inpatient-AI (II). The student will be able to participate with Dr. Harvey Edwards in Labor and Delivery and Surgery at Norport Medical Center. Attendance at grand rounds and other teaching conferences is expected. Under supervision, the student will assist Dr. Edwards in performing vaginal and instrumental deliveries, cesarean section and gynecologic surgery including laparoscopic hysterectomy, urethropexy procedures, vaginal reconstruction, etc.
Where To Report Report to University Medical Center, Room J223 on the first day.
Requirements The student is expected to be present each day from 7 AM to 6 PM and take call with Dr. Harvey Edwards at night and weekends from home. Selected reading will also be required. Attendance at grand rounds and other teaching conferences is expected.
