Course Description
This course is designed for students with an interest in Neurosurgery including those visiting students. Students will be exposed to multiple disciplines within Neurosurgery at UAB. LEARNING OBJECTIVES: 1. Perform a neurological evaluation 2. Present neurosurgical patients 3. Develop an understanding of the breadth of neurosurgery

Requirements
This is a patient care centered elective. Time will be spent in the operating room, on the wards, in clinic and at Neurosurgical conferences. Night call is optional based on student preference, but recommended once a week for students planning to pursue a neurosurgical residency. The student is required to attend rounds, conferences, and outpatient clinics as assigned. A short presentation will be given by the student on a neurosurgical topic.
Evaluation
Based on attendance, participation and clinical presentation.
