Course Description
THE STUDENTS WILL BE GIVEN OPPORTUNITY TO SPEND TIME AND OBSERVE BREAST DIAGNOSIS IN RADIOLOGY. THIS INCLUDES MAMMOGRAPHY, ULTRASOUND AND MRI IMAGING IN ADDITION TO BIOPSY TECHNIQUES. CLINICAL DIAGNOSIS WITH A SPECIALIZED BREAST SURGEON AND BREAST TREATMENT TO INCLUDE SURGERY, RADIATION THREAPY AND CHEMOTHERAPY WITH OPTIONAL TIME IN BREAST PATHOLOGY. STUDENTS MAY CHOOSE FROM BELOW AND EMPHASIZE THE AREAS IN WHICH THEY ARE MOST INTERESTED. COURSE FORMAT: STUDENT WILL OBSERVE AND AT TIMES PARTICIPATE IN MAMMOGRAPHY, BREAST ULTRASOUND AND BREAST MRI INTERPRETATION. STUDENT WILL OBSERVE AND AT TIMES PARTICIPATE IN STEREOTATIC, ULTRASOUND AND MRI DIRECTED PERCUTANEOUS BREAST BIOPSIES. STUDENTS WILL ATTEND MULTIDICIPLINARY TEAM CONFERENCES WHICH INCLUDE DECISION-MAKING REGARDING SURGICAL, RADIATION AND CHEMOTHERAPY TREATMENT OPTIONS FOR BREAST CANCER. STUDENT WILL ROTATE THROUGH SURGICAL BREAST CLINIC. STUDENT WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO SPEND TIME IN BREAST PATHOLOGY (OPTIONAL)

OBSERVATION AND DISCUSSION
GENERATION OF INTERPRETATIONS AND/OR CLINICAL NOTES TO BE APPROVED AND SIGNED BY PRECEPTOR
PRACTICE ON PHANTOMS AND MODELS PRIOR TO PARTICIPATION IN CLINICAL EXAMINATIONS AND PROCEDURES WHEN APPROPRIATE.
