Prerequisites
Successful completion of the core internal medicine, psych and surgery clerkships and any clerkship which covers the content material of the requested elective or acting internship course (e.g. Pediatric Clerkship must be successfully completed prior to taking a Pediatric Elective or AI)
Specific Clerkship Prerequisites: Medicine, Psychiatry, Surgery

Course Description
Students will work in outpatient settings to evaluate patients and do psychotherapy under supervision. Description: Outpatient clinic exposure utilizing video camera monitor for instruction and supervision. Emphasis is on interviewing skills and treatment planning.
Where To Report
Must call or email course contact at least 8 weeks prior to start date. Will report to Betty Shirley Clinic (University Medical Center)or alternate location based on schedule.
Requirements
Students will participate in the evaluation of patients in the formulation of treatment plans. Assigned readings and individual faculty supervision will be available. No overnight call is involved.
Prior completion of third year psychiatry clerkship.
