Course Description
The student will spend most of this period in the offices of the physicians, studying and assisting in the management of patients presenting to a busy ophthalmologist in a regional referral center.

Requirements
*Tuscaloosa campus students only* Making rounds, caring for patients under the direction of resident and staff, and finally operating room exposure on certain neurosurgical procedures.Selected patients will be followed through the hospital, including operating room for indicated eye surgery, where the student will be expected to perform the history and physical examination and to observe special diagnostic or treatment methods. Emphasis will be placed on the history and physical examination in the diagnosis of ophthalmological problems.
Evaluation
Evaluation Methods: Pass/Fail
Students will be evaluated on attendance, completion of assigned reading and participation in patient interactions and group discussions.
