Course Description
The student will receive extensive exposure to open and laparoscopic colon and rectal procedures. The student will gain knowledge in the diagnosis as well as surgical and medical treatment of colon, rectal, and anal disorders. The student will see patients in the office with the attending surgeon.

Information will be sent to the student in advance.
Requirements
The student may take variable call. The student will take part in many operative procedures and become knowledgeable in the treatment of colon cancer, diverticulitis, anorectal disorders (hemorrhoids, fissure-in-ano, anal fistulas, etc.), and others. The student will be exposed to endoscopic procedures as well.
Evaluation
Grades are based on attendance, attitude, and interest in surgery.
