Prerequisites Successful completion of the core internal medicine, peds and surgery clerkships and any clerkship which covers the content material of the requested elective or acting internship course (e.g. Pediatric Clerkship must be successfully completed prior to taking a Pediatric Elective or AI).

Course Description The purpose of this course is to enable the student to gain a better understanding of neurological disorders in outpatient and inpatient settings, with emphasis on diagnosis (using EEG and EMG) and treatment. The depth and intensity of participation in patient management is in accordance with the student's desires.
Where To Report Students will be emailed with information about where and when to report.
Requirements The student will spend roughtly 80 percent of the time in a private office with outpatients and 20% of time with inpatients. The student will be given the opportunity to observe new patient workups and perform them under supervision. Ample time for independent study is available.
Evaluation The student will be evaluated on a subjective basis based upon the attending physicain's interview with the student and observations of the student's performance.
