Prerequisites Successful completion of the core internal medicine and surgery clerkships and any clerkship which covers the content material of the requested elective or acting internship course (e.g. Pediatric Clerkship must be successfully completed prior to taking a Pediatric Elective or AI). 
Specific Clerkship Prerequisites: Medicine, Surgery, Family Medicine, Neurology, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Pediatrics, Psychiatry

Course Description This clinical course provides comprehensive exposure to the diagnosis, surgical treatment, and post-operative management of cancer patients. Emphasis is also placed upon multidisciplinary care including adjuvant chemotherapy, and radiation therapy. The student will play an integral role in the pre- and post-operative management of surgical patients in the outpatient clinics. Weekly didactic activities include Surgical Oncology Service Conferences, Multidisciplinary Tumor Conference, Surgery Grand Rounds and the Resident's Basic Science Conference. Faculty members on this service include: Drs. Wang, Contreras, and Reddy.

Requirements Participation in clinic, OR, in-hospital patient care and conferences (staging conference, multidisciplinary tumor conference and Surgery Grand Rounds.
