Biographical Sketch 
Dr. Winokur attended medical school and finished his residency in Anatomic Pathology at Washington University in St. Louis. He has held positions in Anatomic Pathology at the Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia and as a senior staff fellow in the Laboratory of Chemoprevention at the National Cancer Institute. He moved to UAB in 1993. He attends on the general surgical pathology service and has a special interest in cardiac pathology. He also serves as the Division Informatics Coordinator and has been recently appointed as the Interdivisional Section Head for Genomics

Description
Dr. Winokur has research interests in several areas. He is interested in molecular diagnostics. He also maintains an interest in growth factors and extracellular matrix. Finally, he continues a research interest in telepathology technologies.
