Biographical Sketch 
Michael J. Conklin, M.D., joined the UAB Division of Orthopaedic Sugery in 1993. He became the Director of Pediatric Orthopaedics at Children's Hospital of Alabama in 2001. An honors graduate, Dr. Conklin serves the University as an Associate Professor. He takes an active role in training medical students, residents, and fellows basic principles, complex techniques as well as modellng those intangible behaviors that make for strong physician/patient interactions. Dr. Conklin treats an assortment of complex Orthopaedic injuries and malformations, including musculoskeletal and spine trauma, spina bifida, cerebral palsy and scoliosis. Although he is not directly involoved in research, Dr. Conklin does have several publications and book chapters to his credit. He has given numerous presentations on a regional and national level.
