Biographical Sketch
Dr. Mobley obtained his B.S. in Chemistry at Oregon State University. He obtained a Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmacology from The Ohio State University with an emphasis on hormonal induced carcinogesis. Prior to joining the faculty at UAB in 2006, Dr. Mobley worked as a faculty member at UMass Medical School and also at Vanderbilt. His early and continued focus has been on biomarker and small molecule discovery in cancer research.

Research/Clinical Interest
Title
Director, UAB CCC Mass Spectrometry/ Proteomics Shared Facility
Description
Dr. Mobley is presently employing various peptide and PTM-selective quantitative methods, which include the use of non-tag and stable isotope tags such as is found in commercial kits for SILAC, AQUA, and iTRAQ to select for and map changes in peptidomic and post translational events such as phosphorylations. As a recent recruit to UAB Dr. Mobley was awarded funds from various avenues to develope a Urologic research center with a focus on Clinical Proteomic driven biomarker discovery using the latest tools in Mass Spectrometry.
